“Woman Reading in a Row Boat” is an 1894 illustration by American artist Edward Penfield (1866–1925), a prominent figure in the American Art Nouveau movement and often regarded as the father of the American poster. This artwork was originally created as a promotional poster for the June 1894 issue of Harper’s Magazine.
